The topic is BDSM, which is forefront in today's fiction. I liked that the author made reference to 50 Shades of Grey, which was the first BDSM experience many of us have had. However, this book is not like 50 Shades. I was surprised at the pace of this book. It moved very quickly. It was nice to not read about a virgin wanting something different. Renee was looking to change her sex life for a boyfriend who left her. Not exactly the right reason to become a sexual submissive. Stefan realizes this early on, but is drawn to Renee anyway. The result is a change for them both. The author brings BDSM to us in a less fairy tale way than others have done. There is realism in the violence that goes with discipline. This is not exactly my "cup of tea" but I can appreciate it for what it is. For those readers who do enjoy reading BDSM, they will enjoy this book. If you are not necessarily drawn to this genre, then you might want to re-think reading this book. 3 out of 5!
