My Review:
I couldn't put this book down! Emily has such horrible luck and the one thing she was looking for on her birthday was a good time. Instead she becomes a target for the mob. Emily hasn't had a great life after her parents were killed and she has promised herself she won't say goodbye to anyone else. She's opinionated, tough, argumentative, and stubborn. She's perfect for Jake.
Jake is with the FBI and becomes involved when Emily is in danger. He takes her to his family's home to hide her from those who are trying to kill her. He is over protective and bossy, but justifies it as part of keeping Emily safe. He's overbearing and argumentative but he can't deny his intense attraction to Emily, though he wants to follow the rules.
These two are explosive together. Emily comes off as sassy and untrusting, but it's only her way of protecting herself. When things get tough, we see who really is protective and who can keep it together. I LOVED this book! I will probably read it again because I'm sure I missed some details. Wonderful suspense and sexual tension. 5 out of 5!
