King Cave by Scarlett Dawn Review

Blurb
The long-awaited sequel to the bestselling, award-winning King Hall: the revolution is here, but the most dangerous attack may come from within...

The safe, comfortable world of Lily Ruckler and her fellow Mystical Kings and Queens is rocked to the core by the attacks at King Hall. Not only does Lily have to kill the Commoners attacking her people, she also has to assume the mantle of leadership, and bring the surviving Mysticals to King Cave.

It should have been too much, but she is not alone. Ezra becomes her rock, her best friend, the one person who understands. As Pearl and Jack struggle with inconsolable loss, Ezra and Lily work to keep the Mys community safe in their new home, and plan a deadly retaliation.

Their friendship saves them both...but it also draws attention. Whispers. Judgment. It's not normal for Shifters and Vampires to be friends, and when a horrifying truth is revealed, their relationship morphs from unusual to unspeakable. Lily is good at keeping secrets that could get her killed. Is she willing to risk Ezra's life as well?

My Review:
King Cave picks up where King Hall leaves off. Be sure you read King Hall first!

Lily and Ezra are back! They are being attacked and have to escape with any Mysticals they can to the safety of King Cave. Once there, she and the other Prodigies must continue their training and become Rulers. Lily and Ezra's friendship continues to deepen but many think there is more going on.

When the Prodigies are made Kings and Queens, they must leave the safety of King Cave to go find the next Prodigies in line. At this point the Commoners have decided that Mysticals are not to be trusted and start to kill them on sight. Lily and Ezra, Pearl and Jack continue to break tradition in how they handle the tasks that are put in front of them. Unfortunately, they have dire consequences to deal with.

I really enjoyed King Cave. We learn a lot more about the 4 Prodigies and their magic. There were times when I felt like things were dragging a little in the Cave, but the last several chapters were packed with enough action to keep things flowing. I love that the story is told from Lily's POV and she is very impressive. Unfortunately we are left with another cliff hanger, but I expected it to happen. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next installment in this series because I am so hooked! If you love paranormal romance, this book is one you can't miss. 4 out of 5!!
