Interview with Katy Evans-Relaunch of Real

Synopsis

A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

In celebration of the re-Release of REAL, Katy Evans agreed to sit down with me and answer a few questions. She is SOOOO cool!

Thank you so much for having me over!

Who is your “go to” author when you want to read?
My most “go to” authors are probably my early favorites. Linda Howard, Suzan Elizabeth Phillips, Julie Garwood. They make me think of my childhood and my safe place, and it’s always nice to read a voice you’re familiar with, from an author that’s never failed you and you always love.
When you were growing up, what did you think you wanted to “be”?
First I wanted to be a teacher, then I wanted to be a secretary, then  (because I love animals) I wanted to be a veterinarian, but when I was told the situation could get bloody, I changed my mind, and then, when I was about twelve, I decided all I wanted was to write and share my stories, and that was it.
Who is on your “list” of celebrities you can sleep with that your significant other can’t get mad about?
Oh my husband would get mad if I slept with any celebrity! As would I. We’ve been married for almost eighteen years but I still get jealous about my man.
Writing and editing can sometimes be exhausting. How do you relax?
It’s so hard to unwind! But my kids, my pets, walking, they really help me unplug and unwind. Your worst enemy when you unwind is your best ally when you write; your mind. It’s hard to just tell it to be quiet for a while.
If you could offer one piece of advice to a prospective author, what would it be?
Never give up is the most important one. Be true to your own voice. Study what you like to read, to find out what you like to write, but be true to your own way of turning a phrase and telling a story. There is only one “you” in the world, so don’t change yourself into something you aren’t. Be passionate about your work. Chances are the same things you feel when writing things you love writing about, others will feel too.
Katy, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to stop by and chat with me!
